There is just no limit to the number of parts, as a Toyota owner you have to choose from. Toyota auto parts have been distributed worldwide for quite a few generations. Of course when you are dealing with auto parts you have the choice of genuine Toyota parts (a.k.a. Toyota factory parts) and Toyota replacement parts. These present a dilemma to any buyer, as they both have their positive and negative points.
Okay, let’s say that you are in the market for some Toyota Tacoma parts, a bed liner to be exact. Now you could go to the dealer and get a factory authorized liner that will be guaranteed to fit, although you will pay quite a handsome amount. Now your other option of course will be to get a replacement part from any number of aftermarket companies you will find on the Internet. The aftermarket liner may or may not resemble the same quality as the dealer, and it may not fit as well; but you will most certainly pay less for such a liner. This is where the dilemma begins.
Let’s say that you were looking for Toyota performance parts, and you walked into the dealer and asked to the see the available Toyota Camry parts for performance enhancement. You will probably get a puzzled look and end up looking at filters and spoilers for the deck lid. The factory does not deal in performance enhancements very much, and you will almost certainly have to go aftermarket in order to meet such a demand. For Toyota car parts in general the dealer is well equipped with everything you could need, but on the performance spectrum you would be better off to go elsewhere.
But if you were looking for Toyota Tundra parts, or Toyota 4runner parts, like fender flares; you would probably not want to take a chance on substandard material that may not fit well and hold up along with the rest of the truck. Toyota body parts or Toyota truck parts for the body as this case suggests are always probably best to purchase from the dealer. Especially when you are dealing with such detailed specification parts as Toyota 4×4 parts. The overall Toyota design is very specific and calls for specific sized individual parts to make the engine and suspension work together properly as a team. Be very careful when attempting to alter any of these components without factory authorized replacements.
Now the other spectrum that you are going to run into is the Toyota used parts that you will find online, at the flea market, or at the salvage yard. This is not such a bad alternative much of the time, but you will have to know a bit about what years can be used for each other, as well as how to tell if a part is still in good, useable condition. I myself when it comes to used parts always have preferred the salvage yard as it allows you the freedom to scavenge for the part yourself and disassemble it. As during this process you will be able to see how well the vehicle was perhaps maintained, and decide for your self the condition of the part; rather than have somebody else tell you the condition and leave you with no other choice bit to trust their opinion.
Good luck with the maintenance and enhancement of your Toyota, just use good sense with each purchase you are considering and you should never go wrong!
